March 2018 - Newsletter

Dear All,

Welcome to our March edition of the newsletter. The newsletter is something we are looking to continue throughout the year to provide and insight into what goes on at Horsford FC.

Notes from the Chairman

Congratulations to our Under 15 Girls who have also reached the League Cup Final after a extra time 1-0 win over North Walsham Angels. They will face Waveney Lionesses at Youngs Park on the 12th May. Best of luck, girls!

A further congratulations to our Veterans team on reaching the Veterans County Cup final. They beat Thetford Town 3-0 last Sunday, to see them reach the final. They will face Cringleford Veterans at The FDC on Friday 4th May (7:30pm). We hope to see as many of you there to support the team on the night. Details on a 'supporters coach' will be posted in the coming weeks.

I've been delighted to see the numbers rise every week at the Ladies training sessions. Our two new coaches Stevie and Aaron have been impressed, and are enjoying every session as it continues to grow. More information on how to get involved in Ladies football can be found here.

Good luck to the Under 8 Hurricanes, Under 9 Hurricanes, Under 10 Harriers, Under 11 Tigers and Under 15's who have cup matches to play in the coming weeks, we hope you will be able to join the Veterans at The FDC.

Finally, a reminder to all our players to keep enjoying themselves, for those on the sidelines to keep supporting, and to all our coaches and committee members to keep working hard and we appreciate all the work you put in.

Charter Standard Community Club

Thanks to all those that attended on Saturday morning for our Charter Standard Community Club presentation. Norfolk FA were delighted to see so many of you turn out in the cold, and were excited by the future of the club. They will also be producing a video, with interviews from coaches, players and volunteers about the club. As soon as the news article and video is produced, we will share with you all. We can also announce that we will be looking to extend our girls and ladies provision for next season, with the introduction of an Under 10 Girls and Under 12 Girls team, as well as next seasons Under 13, Under 14, Under 16 and Ladies teams. We will also be starting an Under 7's mixed team in the coming weeks to prepare them for the start of the 2018/19 season. Anybody interested in coaching any of the new teams, please get in touch.

Safeguarding & Welfare

A reminder that our Child Welfare Officer; Amanda Sheehy is always available for any discussions regarding your child. As a club we follow The FA's Safeguarding 4 Steps in being checked and trained, hearing and reporting incidents. If you or your child ever has any concerns, please contact your team manager or Amanda.
Amanda's contact details are as follows;
07828 275295

All conversations and communications are confidential between the Child Welfare Officer and any individuals.
In June, our Treasurer - Shaun and our Secretary - Viv will be stepping down from their roles respectively. We have to replace Shaun and Viv in order for the club to continue and run. We are advertising to fill these volunteer roles early, so that we can provide a smooth handover and transition into the role for the new person. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Chris Brown -
